What can I expect from counseling?
Counseling seeks to help clients change behavior, attitudes, and/or perceptions about themselves, others, and the world around them. During counseling, we seek to stimulate growth. Counselors seek to arouse the belief that help is possible, correct erroneous beliefs about the world, develop competencies in social living, and help clients accept themselves as persons of worth.
Counselors ask: "What is the problem? Should I intervene and try to help you? What could I do to help?" Sometimes, counselors might tell people what to do, but counselors use skillful questioning to help clients resolve their own problems.

Individuals seeking to enter a counseling relationship can expect to gain some benefits from the process. These benefits often include lessening of unpleasant feelings and/or destructive lifestyle choices. Occasionally during the process of counseling, some of those feelings temporarily increase. That can be considered normal, but if they do not decrease, you are asked to please notify Ms. Wheeler

How much does counseling for adults cost?
Individual Counseling – First Session (50-75 minutes) ….. $150
Individual Counseling – Regular Session (50 minutes) ….. $125

Insurance information
Ms. Wheeler is on many of the most popular insurance panels including, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Tricare , Aetna and others. She is also on several EAPs (Employee Assistance Program). Mrs. Wheeler also takes Medicaid through BC/BS, Select Health, Molina and Cenpatico.
Low Cost Counseling Options
Occasionally Ms. Wheeler will work with an intern who will offer sessions for clients at a reduced cost ($40-$60/session).
