Welcome to the Center for Families from
Helen Elliott Wheeler, LPC
We are pleased that you have chosen to explore avenues to help improve your life, whether you need help as an individual, as a couple, or as a family.
We are here to help you and your family. Very often, people seek counseling during or after a personal or family crisis. We are sensitive to your needs during that time, whether you are facing the death of a loved one, a separation or divorce, a crisis with children or other family members, or marital difficulties. Everything the Center for Families does is focused on moving forward to what we call a "new normal."
We offer a variety of services. You can find a variety of services at the Center including individual, couple, family, or child/adolescent counseling. In addition, we provide co-parent counseling, or coaching, and parent coordination. We also provide *mediation services* to resolve conflicts, develop parenting plans, and settle divorce proceeding. You can explore the different pages on this website to learn more about each of these types of services.
We offer a variety of payment options. Ms. Wheeler participates with many insurance company plans and is a provider for a variety of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP's). If you are unsure about Ms. Wheeler's participation with your insurance company, please contact your insurance company. In some circumstances, Mrs. Wheeler offers a sliding scale. We accept credit and debit cards from Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover and Venmo . For more information about fees, insurance, sliding scales, and payment, visit the Fees & Payment page of this website.
We are a teaching facility. The Center for Families is also a teaching facility, helping in the preparation of practicum graduate students as the study to become counselors. Ms. Wheeler is a Supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselor Interns as they prepare for licensure by the state of South Carolina. Students and LPC-A can click here for more information.
